Top 5 Practical Fat-loss Exercises

At some point in our exercise driven activities, we've all wanted to trim the fat and for various reasons.

The top 5 list provided below will give you the best sports that you can practice that will make you lose fat and not gain any more muscle weight.

Problem:  - Losing fat
                 - Gaining unwanted muscle weight/size

What this is good for:     - Losing fat
                                       - Lose weight
                                       - Showing off your six pack
                                       - Add tone and definition

5.  Rowing
By mainly working the upper body and focusing less on the legs, this will produce less testosterone and therefore promote less muscle gain.  Rowing is also a high calorie burning activity = fat loss.

4. Wrestling
Wrestling is a great exercise for the stimulation of fast-twitch muscle fibers.

3. Rock Climbing
Agility and lifting your body weight sum up rock climbing.  Those two factors will cut down fat.

2. Swimming
Swimming is an excellent calorie-burning activity since it's going to work so many muscle groups at once. The resistance of the water is enough to build sufficient muscle strength and definition without applying a great overload to generate increases in size.

1. Sprinting
It's not abnormal to see sprinters maintaining a metabolic rate 30-50% higher than the average individual, so with them burning up calories so rapidly, excess body fat will never be seen. This sport also works the fast-twitch muscle fibers almost exclusively without adding any outside weight, allowing the body to see great muscle definition with a lower amount of muscle bulk.

  1. What about jogging with sprinting intervals? or just jogging in general. Some people argue that maintaining about a 70% heart rate for a long period of time (jogging wise) is better, but then some claim (like you haha) that sprinting is what trims off fat. Where's the boarder line of gaining muscle and losing fat?

  2. Great question(s).

    1) Jogging with sprinting intervals is actually one way of training for sprinting. However, as with all forms of exercise, your body adapts to the training and you will plateau eventually.

    2) Jogging in general would be fine if you are training for a marathon or a half-marathon. Most people jog leisurely rather than trying to maximize their fat gain. To maintain 70% heartrate and actually lose fat, you will need to jog for an hour a day (arbitrarily speaking) and adjust your diet.

    3) Gaining muscle is mainly dependent on your diet. All work-outs will to an extent help you build muscle or trim fat. In order to maintain muscle you will need to eat approximately 1gram of protein for each pound you weigh (for eg if you weigh 130 lbs, you would need to eat 130grams of protein to maintain the same muscle mass roughly speaking). You can pretty much extrapolate how much you need to eat to gain or lose weight.

  4. Calotren, a natural protein formula, is an essential nutritional supplement for the body. It helps the body to shed toxins and excess body fat naturally. The natural ingredient assures no side effects.
